However, bodybuilding legend Phil Heath, who has managed to get his hands on the prestigious title, not once but 7 times, has recently shed light on the harsh realities that lie behind the glitz and glamor of the sport.

The 7-time Mr. Olympia champion has been making headlines with his latest video as he recalled the relationships he had to sacrifice in order to succeed in his career.

Heath’s strong words about the harsh reality

Heath recently took to Instagram and posted a video of addressing the crowd. In the candid video, Heath shared a personal experience that serves as a powerful reminder of the true nature of success. He recalled his first amateur championship victory, which is considered the beginning of his journey to becoming one of the most celebrated bodybuilders in the world. But to his disappointment, not a single friend from his past, with whom he had once shared living spaces and cherished memories in basketball houses, showed up to support him on that significant day.

The bodybuilding legend explained that despite spending holidays and birthdays together, none of his friends expressed genuine happiness for his success. He also revealed that while his friends desired to experience the same level of recognition, no one was ready to put in the immense effort and dedication required to achieve such a feat.

In the video, Heath expressed his frustrations with the superficiality of people’s expectations. He openly admitted that not everyone would be happy with his success, nor would they extend their support during times of struggle. However, he also added that when it comes to taking credit for success, there will be a long queue. Heath’s candid revelation is a powerful reminder that the journey after success can be a lonely and tough path.

However, the bitter realization of the hollow friendships and bonds didn’t let couldn’t divert Heath from his goal. In fact, the legendary bodybuilder had to go through many personal and professional life crises while he was at the top of his game. And his long-time coach and mentor, Hany Rambod, have witnessed all his struggles very closely. The Popular fitness coach once opened up about Heath’s dedication and commitment in a podcast.

Rambod revealed that despite losing his father, getting divorced, and having huge financial setbacks, Heath never skipped his fitness regime. The fitness coach also added that he was impressed seeing the strong comeback of Heath year after year for 7 years. Despite going through some miserable situations.
