However, what few people know is that the bodybuilding icon has achieved such heights after overcoming several personal and professional challenges along the way which took him to the point that he started hallucinating about talking to his father. And the one person who was a constant face throughout the roller coaster trajectory was the veteran coach and Phil Heath’s mentor, Hany Rambod.

The legendary coach got the front seat to witness his pupil’s consistency and recently opened up about Heath’s journey. The 45-year-old recently made the limelight as he revealed the impressive dedication of the 7x Mr. Olympia.

Phil Heath never let his issues come his way
Hany Rambod has witnessed firsthand Heath’s incredible resilience and determination. In his latest YouTube video, the veteran coach recently recalled the time when he was training the star bodybuilder and revealed how Heath faced many major setbacks in his personal life. But he never let his personal affairs affect his professional goals.

In 2014, Heath’s father passed away which was an emotionally draining moment for the legendary bodybuilder. He even started hallucinating, talking to his father, and promising to win the title. The following year he also went through a divorce in 2015. These events could have easily distracted anyone from their goals. But Heath proved that nothing could divert him from achieving his ambition as The Gift went on to win the contest in both years.

Despite the hardships, Heath never lost focus on his training and was able to maintain his level of consistency, which earned him the respect of his coach. “He knew when to turn it off and when to cut it off in regards to not trying to get too caught up in the BS that was going on and I think that really helped him create that consistency”, the coach said. However, while the star bodybuilder may have been to control himself that time, but he recently lost control over his emotions.

Heath expressed his emotions about his father
Phil Heath recently took to Instagram and shared a post while remembering his father who passed away 9 years back. The star bodybuilder admitted that while he may have achieved everything, but he has been living with a void since his father bid his final goodbye.
