Phil Heath recently released his life journey through the documentary “Breaking Olympia: The Phil Heath Story.” To promote it, the bodybuilder has been frequently appearing in numerous interviews. And through one such interview, another aspect of his life was revealed. Heath shed light upon his friendship with famous NFL star, Nate Burleson.

Earlier, Nate Burelson had revealed his childhood memories with Heath before. Heath has now delved into how they used to wrestle and do other cool stuff popular in their school days back in the 1980s and early 1990s.

Phil Heath and Nate Burlson used to shoot pop bottle rockets

During the interview, the seven-time Mr. Olympia chuckled when the host told him that Nate Burlson mentioned how he used to wrestle with Phil Heath back in his living room when they were young. Heath thus remarked, “Nate is hilarious man. His memory is pretty good.” When he was asked who used to win those battles, Heath did not hesitate to mention that it was indeed Nate. He then went ahead to recall how he grew up with Nate, Little Al, and Kevin.

Moving forward in the interview, Phil Heath also complimented Nate Burleson. He stated, “The cool thing about Nate Burleson is the fact that no one particularly felt like as like a freshman in high school thought that he was going to amount to what he has done today and his work ethic is just tremendous.” Then the bodybuilder also started talking about how they used to wrestle and used to do other funny things. He also mentioned bike tracking in the 80s and 90s when BMXs were the rage. Heath mentioned, “We did a lot of funny stuff you know shooting pop bottle rockets at each other.”

Phil Heath grew up with many athletes; almost all of them went on to become legends in their own rights. As the bodybuilder talked about this, he shed light about growing up in Seattle.

Phil Heath mentioned how he grew up with Jamal Crawford

After Heath was told that he grew up with not only Nate Burleson but also the famous NBA star, Nate Robinson, he explained that outside of these two, he also had Jamal Crawford’s company in his high school days. He recalled, “Another high school teammate of mine Jamal Crawford that played in the NBA almost 20 years.”

Phil Heath then revealed how he realized the sheer number of athletes that hailed from Seattle. He stated, “You know you had a lot of athletes growing up in just this small area in Seattle.” Heath also talked about how they could have never thought how much they would progress in their respective professions.
