The weight loss journey is never easy and, well, the only key to being successfully transformed is being consistent and resilient. The story of the Star of the famous show from TLC ‘1000 Lb. Sisters’ is a standing testament to it. While the finale of the show was being shot, Tammy Slaton’s sister was qualified for weight-loss surgery, but she was not. This made her upset, of course.
In 2021, Slaton even went into a food addiction rehab facility, but she quit that too. As a result, her health took a different turn, and she was put on a ventilator and was in a medically induced coma. However, in February 2023, she finally revealed that she became qualified for a gastric bypass surgery, and well, ever since then, things have been working out for her. She recently shared a transformation update too.

The Access, shared a video of Tammy Slaton, on their official website, where she was seen dramatically flexing her weight loss journey out of sheer happiness. The amount of relief she had, as she could finally walk without the support of external oxygen being provided after the surgery, is pretty much evident in her expression.
She has constantly been posting fun selfies on her Instagram account after being fit, and with her cute filtered videos, she also managed to clap back at her haters, the people who would constantly criticize her for her weight. When a fan wanted to see what she looked like, she even made the effort of taking off her glasses and making a video.
Both the Slaton sisters have documented the entire process of their weight loss journey and that is what continues to motivate people to not give up on what they believe in. Well, the bypass surgery has indeed done magic to Tammy Slaton.

In the summer of 2022, Tammy Slaton finally underwent the long-awaited gastric bypass surgery, which was the leading milestone of putting her in the process of recovery. She has managed to lose more than 360 pounds since she weighed the heaviest, 180. She now walks freely, without any external support to her organs.
In an interview with PEOPLE, she said, “I was able to make my lungs strong enough to get my trach [tracheostomy tube for breathing] out, and then recently the doctor cleared me to be off my oxygen machine during the daytime. I’m feeling thrilled, proud, excited – just all the emotions. I proved everybody wrong. Everybody that doubted me, I finally got mine! My told-you-so moment!”
