The rivalry between the seven-time Mr. Olympia Phil Heath and Kai Greene is one of the most well-known in the history of bodybuilding. In 2014, Greene ignited a small fight at a press conference before the Olympia, which turned the tables.

In a recent podcast on the YouTube channel, BRADLEY MARTYN’S RAW TALK CLIPS, the 44-year-old former bodybuilder reminisced about the rivalry, while also sharing why Greene never got a chance to win Olympia.

Heath explained how it was the fans of both bodybuilders that led to the heightening of the rivalry between them.  While talking about what happened between him and Greene, the former Arnold Classic winner brought about the example of a high school fight. “Now we’re at lunchtime looking at each other fu**ked up you know what I mean then by 3:15 you know at school we’re in the parking lot getting ready to fight and we don’t know why I felt like that with Kai,” Heath explained.

The seven-time Mr. Olympia also talked about how he felt about being the only guy standing in Greene’s way to winning titles. He explained that he felt responsible about this and acknowledged Greene’s anger towards him. “This is the only motherfu**ker that I have to beat to be the best the best in the world at something,” Heath said.

The host asked Heath if the 300-pound mass monster could have won the Olympia. Heath made a shocking reveal and said,” He could have beat me in 2014 if he didn’t start that fight.” He explained that Greene could have scored more points on Friday and entered the show with almost the same score on Saturday. That Friday, Heath had a feeling that Greene might end up doing something silly, and they did at the press conference.

At the 2014 Mr. Olympia press conference, both athletes were given turns to give three facts about how they were better than others. On being asked the three facts, Greene replied, “Fact one, we’ll outweigh him by 40 pounds; Fact two, we’ll be wider; Fact three, it’s all over from the rear, and that’s just it, and how’s it gonna be.”

Then the seven-time Olympia replied to Greene, giving an answer stating his records: “2011, 2012, 2013.” Heath added that he was not feeling well on Friday, and that was the only chance Greene could have ever defeated him on the Olympia stage.
