Dr. Stefi Cohen’s trick

Dr. Stefi Cohen understands the struggle because she also used to have those chicken legs in the past. She mentioned in her caption, “I started doing exercises to grow my legs. I hurt my knee.” So, to prevent pain she “reduced the range of motion to accommodate for the pain.” And guess what? She ended up with more knee pain, unable to do the exercises she had started with. However, she has cracked the code and now boasts an impressive, “squat 515” pounds with kegs that she proudly calls her “getaway sticks.” She revealed that the secret behind this incredible transformation lies in understanding the angle change at a joint.

Cohen further explained, “The greater the angle change at a joint, the more stimulated that particular muscle is going to be.” She elaborated that by allowing your knee to go past your toes during exercises like squats, you emphasize your quadriceps muscles to a much larger degree.

While many people may shy away from letting their knees go past their toes during squats, her experience challenges this notion. Further, believed that incorporating this concept into her squat training allowed her to get ridiculously strong while building even stronger knees. The result of this practice was astonishing because she has broken records year after year, completely pain-free.

Cohen’s journey was filled with similar obstacles every step of the way, as she hurt herself several times. However, she pushed on and found tricks to train injury-free.

In an old post, Cohen shared her unique approach to training without getting hurt. She articulated that her doctors told her to stop lifting heavy weights because her back hurt. Despite this, she never gave up. She kept lifting, but it hurt a lot. After three years, she realized she needed to focus on making her whole body strong, and not just focus on specific lifts. This was the secret.
