In the latest installment, the publication visited Sam Hargrave. Hargrave is a Hollywood veteran with an impressive resume working as a stunt coordinator and stuntman for multiple films, including MCU movies. During their interview, the stuntman-turned-director revealed how his diet changed over the years.

Hargrave made his directorial debut with Extraction on Netflix. The film received critical praise for its action sequences, and fans loved it too. Men’s Health caught up with the 40-year-old before Extraction 2’s June 16th Netflix release. In the video, Hargrave showed off what he has in his fridge and described his diet and workout routine.

The conversation about the stuntman’s diet began when the reporter asked Hargave what was in his fridge. “I’ve got lots of greens. My go-to’s are broccoli, spinach, (and) mushrooms,” said the 40-year-old. The Extraction director said he loves mushrooms as they are a good source of protein. He also revealed liking smoothes while showing tetra packs of almond and coconut milk.

Hargrave said he is a “big egg guy,” and likes having wild-caught salmon. The 40-year-old also eats a few exotic meats, like bison. For carbohydrates, the filmmaker eats sprouted grain Ezekiel bread. While Hargrave’s diet seems like a balance of vegetables and meat, this hasn’t always been the case. “Over the years, my diet has changed a lot,” said the stuntman.

Hargrave revealed his diet fluctuated according to the demands of the role. For the MCU movies, Hargraves did a lot of stunts for Chris Evans’s Captain America. Hence he had to adjust his diet to match Evan’s physique. “For six years, I was a vegetarian,” revealed the filmmaker. However, one that remained constant in Hargrave’s life was working out.

The former stuntman prioritizes efficient workouts
Regular workouts are one of Sam Hargrave’s biggest priorities. However, due to his busy schedule prefers exercising in the most efficient way possible. During the interview, the Extraction director revealed he works out from 15 min to 2 hours depending on the project.

For his shorter workouts especially, Hargrave likes to combine movements such as mixing bicep curls with lunges. “Cause time is our greatest asset,” said the stuntman while performing the movement. The stunt-double also explained what he does in a week.“I alternate between upper body, lower body, and cardio. Push-pull one day and then start the cycle again,” he explained. While Sam Hargrave might have switched to directing, the 40-year-old continues to do stunts and doesn’t plan on slowing down any time soon.
