See, according to him, under-eating can actually lower your metabolism, making it harder to shed those extra pounds. Gaspari highlights in his video, the importance of eating frequently throughout the day to rev up your metabolism and promote fat loss. The 60-year-old emphasizes that our bodies are efficient at storing fat, a survival mechanism from prehistoric times when food availability was unpredictable.

To counter this, he suggested the best option “is to eat at least five meals a day.” Each with a balance of 40% protein, 40% complex carbs, and 20% fat. “By eating more frequently, your body’s metabolism will speed up and by implementing weight training you will gain muscle to speed up your metabolism,” said Gaspari.

The bodybuilding legend insists that the key lies in avoiding refined carbohydrates and sugars, labeling white sugar as “poison” for your body. Instead, he advocates for a diet rich in complex carbs, lean proteins (such as chicken, turkey, fish, and eggs), and plenty of vegetables. This combination, along with increased fiber intake, helps your body utilize food energy efficiently. With this full-nutrition diet plan, he also emphasizes the importance of working out especially delving into weight training.
