The bodybuilding world has just suffered a devastating blow. Less than 24 hours ago, news broke that 80s bodybuilding veteran “Mighty” Mike Quinn has passed. Earlier, Kellie Quinn, the bodybuilder’s sister, announced the news on Facebook. “After a long illness, my brother Mike, a.k.a. ‘Mighty Mike Quinn’, has received his angel wings,” wrote Kellie Quinn in the tribute post for her bother.

The 61-year-old former AAU Teen Mr. America battled a long-term illness. However, his sister didn’t disclose which disease afflicted the former Mr. Olympia competitor. In her tribute, Kellie Quinn wrote her brother touched many lives. Her words rang true as four times Arnold Classic winner Flex Wheeler shared a tribute for Quinn, and bodybuilding fans paid their respect to the former IFBB Pro in the comments.

Earlier today, three-time Mr. Olympia runner-up Flex Wheeler posted an image of Might Mike on Instagram. In the image, Quinn graced the cover of the October 1994 issues of Ironman Magazine. “RIP MIKE,” wrote the 57-year-old, who has also battled rare and chronic kidney disease for decades.

Mighty Mike began weightlifting when he was 13 and made immense progress. The 61-year-old became interested in powerlifting before focusing on bodybuilding. Quinn started competing just five years after he began pumping iron. Besides winning the AAU Teen Mr. America, Mighty Mike also competed in the Mr. Olympia contest four times in his career. He was also one of the bodybuilders who were open about steroids while actively competing. His passing away has shocked his fans, and they flocked to the comments section of Flex Wheeler’s post.
