Anime often motivates bodybuilders in their journey to achieve their goals and many have admitted to the same, like the five-time Mr. Olympia Chris Bumstead, who is a stickler for anime. Now, it is another bodybuilding sensation’s turn to admit that they were also a fan. In a recent interview, fitness influencer Sam Sulek touched upon the motivation he derived from anime.

In the video uploaded by the Instagram page blake_koala, the interviewer asked Sulek,” A very peculiar question, and I’ve noticed as an anime fan, are there any animes that stand out for you that have really motivated you in the gym?” To which Sulek gave an intriguing answer.

Anime music videos hype up Sam Sulek

Sulek highlighted that motivation from anime is an ordinary thing in the bodybuilding realm. “This is pretty standard lifter jargon, at least for us, you know, the younger crowd,” he explained. There are many popular shows like One Punch Man, Dragon Ball Z, Hunter x Hunter, Baki, and My Hero Academia, that lifters often watch in the anime realm.

Earlier, Sulek had revealed how he was a fan of Attack on Titan and Berserk. On the other hand, he often watches anime music videos while going to the gym as well. The bodybuilding enthusiast mentioned Broly as his go-to anime music video to get hyped up. Further, he added, “If you don’t get amped up, Frankly, I think something’s wrong with you in the head.” The Broly anime music video is a clip from the famous 90s anime “Dragon Ball Z.” The video showcases the main characters of the show engaging in a fight to death, showcasing their never-give-up attitude.

Earlier, Chris Bumstead had revealed his go-to animes as well.

The five-time Mr. Olympia watches anime during his prep season. Bumstead had revealed the anime he watched one week before the Mr. Olympia in 2022. Bumstead mentioned he was watching Jujutsu Kaisen and Bleach. Bumstead is also obsessed with the classic, Naruto.

According to Bumstead, ‘Itachi’ was his favorite character from the show. “He was literally exiled from his village; everybody f**king hate his guts…all along, he was doing the best thing to protect his village,” Bumstead revealed. He further explained how a true ninja doesn’t go after fame or fortune, making him fall in love with the character.
