Explaining the importance of resistance training, Arnie wrote, “Resistance training improves your mobility and flexibility by forcing you to move a weight through the end ranges of motion.” Arnie therefore showcased his belief in the “stretch and flex” mantra, drawing attention to the fact that training with weights makes you better at moving overall. The secret sauce, he noted, lies in performing exercises with a full range of motion and avoiding the temptation to cheat by focusing solely on adding more weight.
