On September 18, Schwarzenegger and Shriver’s eldest son, Patrick Schwarzenegger, turned 30. Besides Arnie and Shriver, his siblings also attended the birthday party. Elder sister Katherine Schwarzenegger’s husband, Chris Pratt, was also seen. However, his half-brother and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s youngest son, Joseph Baena, didn’t appear in the photographs. Fans in the post’s comments questioned why Banea never attends such family events.

Joseph Baena’s continued absence from major family events

While Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver separated in 2011, they divorced in 2021. In the years in between, the family healed as best they could. Schwarzenegger and Shriver never missed out on any significant events in their children’s lives. Arnold Schwarzenegger also established a great relationship with Joseph Baena. In fact, Baena even took up bodybuilding as his hobby.

However, fans noticed that while Arnie and Jo Baena often hung out, he would never be seen with his half-siblings. While the 25-year-old bodybuilding enthusiast follows his brothers and sisters on social media, they do not follow him. Hence, many fans passed judgment that his half-siblings do not want to associate with Joseph Baena.

One fan bluntly asked Patrick Schwarzenegger about Baena. “Was your brother Joseph there, stop denying his existence,” wrote the fan. “He must really not like his brother Joseph,” concluded another Instagram user. However, not everyone’s comments sounded interrogative. “How cool will it be if they include their step bother?” asked one fan.

While some asked questions, others saw things from a different perspective. “Not a stepbrother but why do people feel like he should force a relationship with him?” one fan asked those who pointed fingers at Arnie’s children. “Maybe he (Joseph Baena) has one but doesn’t feel to make it public,” added the fan. Another fan made a similar correction to those calling the 25-year-old their stepbrother. “He’s actually their half brother…” corrected the user.

Schwarzenegger’s affair, the resulting child, and everything that unfolded afterward was a difficult reality to accept for everyone involved. While Patrick Schwarzenegger or his siblings have never been in public with Baena, they have also never disrespected their half-brother.
