The Australian actor, famous for playing Thor – the hammer-wielding superhero – has always been associated with his toned physique. However, the 39-year-old actor admitted a critical change in priorities to meet the demanding needs of his new character.

Additionally, Hemsworth’s close friend and personal trainer, Luke Zocchi, who has been instrumental in keeping the actor fit throughout his career, clarified the reason behind this remarkable request. He stated that while Thor required a focus on cosmetic body work, Extraction 2 called for a higher level of athleticism due to the intense stunts and action scenes involved.

Novotný, who has collaborated with the Czech Republic national team and teaches at the European University of Madrid, introduced new ideas to the Australian actor’s exercise routine. A crucial discovery occurred when the Avenger inquired about the most effective method for his biceps training.

Novotný guided Hemsworth on an approach that would result in smaller, more refined biceps. He stressed the significance of incorporating biceps as part of a muscle chain, merging them with other muscle groups. In particular, Novotný advised linking bicep exercises with deltoids in an upright position during the first phase. This discovery opened Hemsworth’s eyes, as these small adjustments in technique enhanced the results he aimed for.

At first, Novotný’s method aimed to improve the “Punctum Fixum” or the holding point of the biceps on core muscles. To accomplish this, the technique involved activating the biceps by contracting them while focusing on the core muscles at the same time. “That means I put him into static core positions while working his biceps using weights.” Adding static core positions to the bicep workout played a vital role in Novotný’s method, using weights to increase training intensity.

Additionally, Novotný fused bicep exercises with leg movements to develop a dynamic core routine. As a result, he introduced three exercises: lateral steps with one-sided biceps, frontal lunges with two-sided biceps, and back lunges with one-sided biceps. We used a combination of resistance bands and elastics to add resistance, attaching one between the legs and another from the legs to the arms.
