Four-time Classic Physique champion Chris Bumseatd took the bodybuilding world by storm in 2017. After finishing as a runner two times in a row, Bumstead won the Classic Physique title in 2019. In November, the champion will defend his title and is looking to extend his run. However, the road to glory has been riddled with setbacks for Bumstead.

The Canadian champion has battled an autoimmune disease that’s hampered his prep in the past. He has also suffered injuries. Last year, the bodybuilding icon competed with a torn bicep. However, the 28-year-old has overcome all these challenges to retain his title. And amid all these taxing trials, his latest Instagram post seems to have given the already “nervous” bodybuilding world even more reasons for concern.

Chris Bumstead is arguably the most popular bodybuilder who is currently competing. The Canadian has 18.5 million followers on Instagram alone. Earlier, CBum addressed his millions of fans in a post with a lengthy caption. However, the very first sentence of his caption made fans anxious. “This has been one of the most challenging beginnings of prep I’ve gone through,” wrote CBum.

The 2023 Mr. Olympia is right around the corner, and everyone who qualified is working harder than they’ve done the whole year. Bumstead is also preparing to earn his historic fifth title. “It’s far from the first time I’ve been tested. I’ve practiced enough to see it as an opportunity to be grateful,” added the bodybuilding icon. Bumstead further elaborated on the challenges he has faced in his career.

While CBum has had his share of difficulties, he wrote, “I woke up the next day and got back to work.” The bodybuilder also touched on the subject of retiring from bodybuilding. However, he ended the post on an optimistic note. “That time may be soon, it may be far, I honestly don’t know. All I know is that it is not right now,” wrote CBum. His fans flooded the comments section to voice their support for the four-time champion.

Since the 28-year-old has talked about retirement multiple times in the past, fans immediately assumed the worst while reading the caption. “Bruh I was nervous while reading it,” wrote a fan. “But the last sentence was reassuring,” the fan added. Another fan felt the same. “Yeah man that was a fearful read,” he commented. “Thought u were quitting for a minute there,” said a third fan.

However, others encouraged the champion bodybuilder to move forward. “Best is yet to come! Whole worlds behind you bro,” wrote one fan. Meanwhile, one fan highlighted the mental pressure Bumstead must be feeling in the face of making bodybuilding history. “Keeping it real. I can’t imagine the pressure!” the fan commented.
