Eddie embarked on his Sumo wrestling journey by seeking guidance from Steve Pateman, a 12-time British Sumo Champion and a highly experienced wrestler with over 25 years of expertise in the field. In a recent YouTube video, the 35-year-old met Steve, who taught him the fundamentals of Sumo wrestling. “Use your strength, grab hold of that Mawashi, let’s see if you can lift those 180-kilogram wrestlers up in the air and march them out,” Steve advised Eddie, referring to the loincloth worn by Sumo wrestlers during training or competitions.
