Frank Zane is an old-school demigod who dominated the bodybuilding arena in the late 70s. Notably, he won three consecutive Mr. Olympias in 1977, 1978, and 1979. Recently, The Chemist appeared in an interview with the seven-time Fitness Model of the Year Mike O’Hearn. While the 54-year-old fitness model was talking about Zane’s heydays in the sport, the legend went nostalgic pointing to a picture of himself from the 1970s. It was taken in his prime where he looked perfectly chiseled while flexing his arms in the broad daylight.

Generation Iron Fitness & Bodybuilding recently uploaded a YouTube video featuring Frank Zane, Mike O’Hearn, and Clark Bartram. Herein, the bodybuilders were praising this old image of Zane. The IFBB pro recalled, “That’s like the week before the show in ’79.” O’Hearn seemed pretty impressed with the picture, “I’m gonna say that’s casual shot outside, no reflectors or anything.”

Later, he also mentioned, “See today we can go out there and that a shot like that or people wouldn’t because they would want the lighting, the flares, and everything.” To this, the three-time Mr. Olympia stated that the sunlight can make anyone look incredible. Knowing that Zane was just being modest, O’Hearn added, “Or you’re just that perfect, that’s the greatest physique that here. I mean that’s the different level. That’s where you knew that you were ready to win.”
