A recent clip by YouTuber Charles Peralo shared certain aspects of Henry Cavill’s movie career where he refused bizarre demands made to alter his physique onscreen. Peralo first explains that Cavill once grew a mustache for Mission Impossible: Fallout. But the problem arose since there was a clash with the Justice League shoot, where he didn’t have any mustache. The latter’s production unit had to remove his mustache using CGI which cost them $1 million.

He agreed to that. But the one thing the Superman star will not allow CGI to do to his onscreen persona is to add or remove abs. This little trivia about him got him a lot of praise from the fitness world. The incident happened in 2011 when Cavill was shooting for The Immortals. The studio saw that he didn’t have the required physique for the role of Theseus, and asked him if they could use CGI.

Cavill refused. He instead trained intensely to build an 8-pack ab in time for the shoot. That was the beginning of him getting jacked for a film or show. He has since built his physique for Man of Steel, Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, Mission Impossible: Fallout, and one of his most recent projects, The Witcher.

Fitness enthusiasts sing praises of Henry Cavill for all the good reasons

Henry Cavill built his body for his projects, without relying on technicalities on camera. And he thus earned the respect of the fitness community. Here’s how some of them reacted:

“Henry Cavill. The alpha male of our species”, wrote a fan who believes in his ethics and manhood.

A fan praised Cavill for his true and authentic self, even amidst the center of showbiz. “This man is fine as wine! Abs no abs, stache no stache. He’s also smart and genuine. He is too good for Hollywood weirdos”.

Another fan expressed why Henry Cavill is his favorite of all Superman actors. If anything, he is the true predecessor of Christopher Reeve in a sense. “Honestly, I gotta give him respect. He didn’t take shortcuts to get muscles. He believed in his own abilities. Honestly, he’s definitely one of my favorite Superman actors”.

“He got an 8-pack…you don’t get an 8-pack he had an 8-pack. It’s called genetics”, wrote another fitness enthusiast who believes it’s his genetics that has got to do with his huge build.

“Won’t CGI and won’t take no steroids… the real SuperMan”, another fan expressing the same feelings about Henry Cavill being authentic.

Henry Cavill has had an incredible physique for any of his entertainment roles, but a lot of effort went into it. He even narrated to Graham Norton once how he had to almost cut down on water intake for a week in order to get that incredibly jacked yet extremely skin-tight body in The Witcher. On the work front, he is set to do another videogame adaptation of the Warhammer 40,000 series, after having quit Witcher 3 and Superman.
