The most humble champion of his sport?

The video began with Hooper inviting Muscle & Strength inside his house before 8:00 in the morning to document his daily routine. Unlike most fitness and motivational influencers who emphasize the morning routine, Hooper simply focuses on not getting in his calories and protein. To withstand the intensity of strongman training, the 27-year-old requires 5500 calories.

While most elite athletes train full time in the video, the WSM winner has a day job. Instead of heading to the gym after breakfast, Hooper walks to work at Longevity Nexum Exercise Physiology. As a kinesiologist, the strongman helps people maintain their physical fitness and recover from injuries.

This is a similarity Hooper shares with Marcelo Garcia, who, despite being one of the most decorated BJJ athletes of all time, also teaches people. The humble champion also eats simple, quality food. While he did measure everything during his bodybuilding competition, now he doesn’t obsess over every macro and micronutrient. Hooper spends the rest of the day in the gym and eating to fulfill his calorie goals. The minimal and down-to-earth lifestyle of the champion won over fans, who praised him in the comments.

Another fan praised his forward thinking. “Love how he emphasized having a backup plan if his career were to end,” the fan commented. Mitchell Hooper’s humble personality, zeal to help others, and find success at an elite level reminded one fan of Garcia.

“Watching this makes me feel like a loser. Class act, kind, and great representative of the sport. He’s like the Marcelo Garcia of strongman,” the fan wrote. However, others replied to his comment, encouraging the fan to see himself as a loser. Others were impressed by how many sports Hoopeer succeeded in. “This Guy is an animal, what a athlete,” one fan wrote. “This guy is truly a freak athlete in every sense of the word,” wrote another fan.
