While Arnie wrote about his experience, he also revealed a vulnerable and deeply personal issue. Inspired by the brave confession, his newsletter subscribers asked the bodybuilding legend to share it with the world.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has a disability that terrifies him
“I could tell you I am fantastic at everything, but I?d be lying,”?Arnie wrote in the first of a series of posts where he shared his story. The Austrian Oak revealed he just finished recording the audiobook version of Be Useful himself.?“In the past, I read a little bit, and a professional handled the rest,”?wrote Schwarzenegger.
The 76-year-old narrated parts of his 2012 book Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story. However, the market for audiobooks has now grown exponentially. The fitness icon knew this time he would have to read his upcoming book in its entirety.?“Here?s my secret: I?m a terrible reader,”?the seven-time Mr. Olympia wrote in his tweet. That’s because the 76-year-old has a reading disability.
Here’s my secret: I’m a terrible reader. They didn’t talk about learning disabilities in Austria in the 1950s, so most of the time, when I was asked to read out loud in class, it was just a disaster, and I got smacked with a ruler. But now I know that I’m dyslexic.

However, the Hollywood superstar later found out he was dyslexic. Since then, Schwarzenegger has taken a disciplined approach to curb his reading anxiety.
How the seven-time Mr. Olympia conquered dyslexia
Despite his difficulties with reading, Schwarzenegger became an actor. However, he didn’t just become an actor; Schwarzenegger became an action cinema icon. Later in his career, he even starred in hit comedy films. So how did someone with Arnie’s condition read and act out scripts? The answer lies in Schwarzenegger’s philosophy.
Like everything in his life, the 76-year-old approached his disability with a champion’s mentality. Schwarzenegger followed?the same advice he gave his children:?“(it?s about) putting in the reps,”?Arnold Schwarzenegger said.?“I did so many reps I couldn?t count,”?Arnie added. The former champion broke the book up into small parts and practiced reading out each part repeatedly before each recording session.

While the charismatic Austrian seems indestructible, he faces challenges every day. The reason Arnold Schwarzenegger shared his personal story is because he wants others to feel inspired.
