Chris Hemsworth doesn’t play Thor, he is Thor. He looks the part, quite literally. Unlike most of his colleagues who seem to get into shape only to get into the skin of the character, Hemsworth actually maintains that superhero body all the time, which has earned him a lot of respect in the fitness and bodybuilding industry. With his incredible physique, it’s clear that sticking to a good workout routine is essential for transforming your entire appearance. And now he’s willing to share his workout routine with the lesser mortals

His Instagram grid is filled with exercise videos. Additionally, he also guides people with his short-time regimes that help the entire body. And it’s not just weight training and getting bigger. For Thor: Love & Thunder, Hemsworth had put on a considerable muscle mass while for movies like Extraction, the Australian actor seemed to have focussed on looking leaner.

Hemsworth has confessed many times about how hard it is to keep his action-hero body. Each character he plays has a different physical requirement. For example, he has to become leaner and lose some muscle to be more flexible in Extraction-2. So he figured out a way to achieve the body type, with the strength and mobility to help him attain that goal.

He recently shared a little sneak peak of the same on his Instagram with over 57 million followers. His caption read, “Try this full-body resistance band workout that you can bang out in 15 minutes!! @centrfit.” He posted a snippet of his 15-minute drill. He performed a total of eight movements he mentioned in this short video.

The twist about his regime is he did it with a band. The exercises he included: “Banded squats, Banded Curls, banded prisoner squats, banded push-ups, spider climber, banded snap jumps reps, banded fire hydrants reps, Russian twist, scissors kicks,” 10 reps each. According to him, anybody who follows this routine would benefit their entire body.
However, it must be noted that these workouts might not suit every body type or even run parallel to your body goals. For Thor: Love & Thunder, he had to gain a huge amount of muscle. For Ragnarok, he was a lot leaner. This change in shape and weight while maintaining strength and mobility, despite getting up there in age is one tricky act and Hemsworth isn’t shy to talk about it.

The transition from Thor to commando was tough

He not only talked about the workout but he stressed the dietray he followed to maintain such physique.“I worked my bu*t off literally for this film. The first time I played Thor, I was like, shirt off, no worries. And I knew in my mind the dream was buns out,” Hemsworth stated. However, it wasn’t as easy as Hemsworth expected it to be. “I gotta eat a ridiculous amount of protein, workout a lot and a lot and a lot, hopefully, get the result,” said the 40-year-old actor.

Adding to this, Hemsworth revealed, “This was the most I’ve ever eaten. Every couple of hours is another meal. It starts off you’re like, “yeah, cool. Yeah. And by like week three or four, you’re like, I can’t do this anymore.”  Soon after, he had to change his body again for the next role. He went from looking super muscular to becoming a fit, athletic soldier for the new role. It’s a never-ending process that actors have to go through.
