“This Is Not a Size Game”: Ronnie Coleman, Who Pushed His Physique to Gargantuan Extremes, Makes a Contradictory Confession Ahead of Mr. Olympia 2023

Ronnie Coleman, widely regarded as the King of bodybuilding, in his prime, was one of the most dominant bodybuilders to grace the sport’s arena. Having won the title of Mr. Olympia eight times in a year, he has managed to garner a huge fanbase for himself. Every year, before the commencement of the championship, the King goes about making his predictions for the year, just like any other elite bodybuilder on his social media handles. 

This year, for bodybuilders, despite having a massive physique, aside from making predictions, he also made a rather contradictory statement about the game.

Ronnie Coleman unveils the true essence of bodybuilding 

Ronnie Coleman recently took to his official YouTube channel, @RonnieColeman, and shared a video of himself where he is seen predicting the top six for the Mr. Olympia 2023. As the video proceeds, he particularly talks about The Mutant, a.k.a. Nick Walker, and announces that he will grab the fourth position in the show this year.

However, with the announcement, he also explains why a lot of bodybuilders lose focus in between and are unable to reach the top. Taking to Nick Walker’s enormous physique, he says, “This is not a size game, which some people get caught up in, and I think kind of like that’s what Nick has been doing, and he’s been putting on all his size.”

Given Ronnie Coleman’s own massive physique in his heyday, this statement really does not stand well. However, he shed light on why he made the statement. The King added, “He’s a very young guy, and it takes a long time for muscles to mature, and muscle maturity is one of the most important aspects of the sport of bodybuilding because it gives you a very different look to the muscle.” Well, if the Mutant is to bag the fourth position, who, according to Ronnie Coleman, will win the show this year?

As the video is about to conclude, Ronnie Coleman makes the long-awaited prediction, choosing the calculated winner of this year’s show. He says, “Derek Lunsford is going to win this whole thing, coming out of 212 all the way to the open, becoming the best bodybuilder in the world in 2023.”

Explaining his choice, the King goes on to mention that he has the highest probability of taking home the title based on his exceptional size, conditioning, and, most importantly, his shape.
