“This Is What Happens When You’re Famous”: IFBB Pro Backs Dwayne Johnson After Haters Trolled Him for His Poor Form at 275lbs Inclined Press

The fitness world can be a harsh and competitive place, especially, since social media platforms are becoming a breeding ground for negative comments and criticism. However, it’s the camaraderie and mutual respect of fellow bodybuilders which keeps the community thriving. A similar example of mutual respect among fellow bodybuilders was seen when the IFBB Pro, Greg Douchette came in support of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson against the trolls. 

Recently, Johnson had a tough time getting trolled on social media for his form during a chest press exercise. However, the Guinness World Record Holder, Douchette spit out some hard-hitting facts in support of The Rock.

Dwayne Johnson recently posted a video on his Instagram account performing the inclined bench press on a Smith machine. The video showed him lifting a whopping 275 pounds, toward the end of his routine. Smith machine incline I do towards the end of my chest workout when my chest is fatigued.Not too heavy. 275LBS”, he wrote in the caption.

However, things went on an unexpected route as many questioned his approach to performing bench presses on the Smith machine. Some critics were quick to point out that Johnson was not using proper form and not completing the full range of motion during the exercise. But, his fellow IFBB Pro bodybuilder and fitness coach Greg Doucette came forward in support of him and defended his training methods.

Doucette posted a video on his YouTube channel explaining why the trolls were wrong. He highlighted the importance of focusing on the approach that suits one’s own progress. The fitness influencer further pointed out that the reckless targeting of Johnson’s fitness approach is the result of his immense popularity and following.

Doucette made a bold statement and said, “This is what happens when you get famous everyone wants to take you down”. Johnson has been a fitness icon for years and is an inspiration to many worldwide. While the trolls only saw the tool The Rock was using, Doucette observed the dedication of the 51-year-old as he pushed his limits. The fact that he was able to lift 275 lbs at the end of his workout speaks for Johnson’s exceptional strength.

However, Doucette’s video in defense of Dwayne Johnson is a great example for other fitness enthusiasts. The initiative serves as an inspiration for other bodybuilders to remain a United force against toxic social media culture.
