Train like a bodybuilder rather than a powerlifter

In the video, the young fitness influencer shared that he doesn’t feel any urge to lift heavy weights like 200 pounds or more. Sulek thinks that mechanical tension is a factor and questioned the former Arnold Classic Champion,” Where do you think the limit is on necessary weight?” To which Dauda replied,” I say people in the body have no idea what way you’re lifting; they only know the resistance you’re putting through it.” The Nigerian Lion added that people lose their primary goal while lifting heavy. He shared that the primary goal is to build muscle and said,”  The muscle doesn’t care about the weight; it is about more tension you put it through it.”

The Nigerian Lion further explained the science behind the growth of muscles: ” When you contract it as tight as you can without resistance and release it, and contract it again, that pushes blood flow and that breaks down muscle fibers in it, and it causes growth.” Dauda emphasized that you should work with more tension on your muscles rather than increasing the weight. He then shared the optimal approach for bodybuilding.

The former Arnold Classic Champion said to the young fitness influencer,” Remember it’s one thing to power lift; it’s another thing to bodybuild.” He continued,” If you’re trying, your idea is I want to build muscle; you got to put everything towards that alone.” The Nigerian Lion emphasized that if you want to build muscle, you need to focus on the contractions. While making sure that your every movement is right and giving proper attention to only that muscle you’re working on.
