Winchester, England, resident Lily Venus loved fitness. In fact, she loved it so much that Venus made it her profession. Due to the pandemic and the ensuing lockdowns people took online fitness classes, and by September 2021, Venus was teaching exercise classes about six times a week. Things seemed alright, but despite the regular exercise she was getting, the then 24-year-old began running into health problems.

In an interview with reporter Molly Pennington, Venus disclosed she began feeling?“incredibly fatigued,”. Waking up in the morning also became a challenge, and then she felt pain in her neck. However, after she couldn’t even teach her classes without discomfort as a lump developed in her throat, Venus decided to visit the doctor.?

The fitness instructor got the shock of her life

Besides teaching online classes, Venus and her partner Ryan had also gotten a new puppy. The now 26-year-old initially thought she felt exhausted due to overexertion and?“the neck pain was from tweaking my neck.”?However, examining the lump and further testing doctors gave a grim diagnosis.

They said Lily Venus had stage four Hodgkin?s Lymphoma, a type of blood cancer. While Venus lived an active life where fitness played a huge role, cancer grew inside her. Doctors immediately recommended she start chemotherapy, and she went through 12 grueling sessions for six months.?

However, fortunately for Venus, while cancer had reached stage four, she responded to the treatment immediately. After her first four sessions, the doctors also lowered the dosage. However, she is grateful that doctors caught the cancer in time.?“Hodgkins Lymphoma is fast-growing. Who knows where I would be if I hadn’t started chemotherapy straight away,” Venus told Molly Pennington. Now, the 26-year-old is cancer free and looking to rebuild her life.

Lily Venus still has dreams to fulfill

“I have always dreamt of being a mother,”?Venus told the reporter. However, before starting the chemotherapy, doctors told Venus there was a chance she could lose her fertility. However, her 36-year-old partner, Ryan Lynch prioritized the treatment over the IFV doctors offered her, which would delay the treatment. Thankfully Venus kept her fertility.

The 26-year-old is also rebuilding her strength and vitality. The Winchester resident revealed her body has changed after the cancer and the grueling treatment. Venus also has allergies she never had before.?“My heart and other organs will forever be weaker than they once were, but I am so grateful to be able to move onwards and upwards with a new appreciation for how wonderful life is,”?said the survivor.
