2022 Mr. Olympia People’s Champion Nick Walker Reveals His “Favorite Back Movement” for Hypertrophy

The Mutant, Nick Walker, an IFBB pro bodybuilder who won the Arnold Classic 2021 had a severe injury which pushed him behind as he prepared for the 2023 Mr. Olympia. However, the bodybuilder is slowly recovering from his Hamstring tear, and with his new and ever-so-determined zeal, he is mastering all his workouts, from legs to shoulders to his back.

In 2022, when he finished as second runner-up at the Mr. Olympia, Walker had slowly begun his ascend to becoming a fan favorite. Hence, missing the 2023 Olympia was a huge setback. Now, Walker is back at it again and is looking to build his physique to its best version. Recently, he touched upon his back routine and how it was going to do magic for the upcoming season.

In his latest Instagram post, the Mutant shared a clip of him doing his back workout. The bodybuilder engaged in Cable Rows, which would directly impact his latissimus dorsi, rhomboids, trapezius, and biceps brachii muscles. Walker wrote in his caption, “Cable rows are prob my favorite back movement. Well one of them at least.”

Moreover, he also added how great he felt doing the exercise and added in the caption, “These felt extra good today.” Unlike many who would engage in minimal reps of such a strenuous workout, Walker had other  intentions. “3 sets- 12-15 reps (yes a bit of higher volume, if it feels good just go with it) that’s okay sometimes,” he suggested.

Much like extreme fitness routines, Walker also stresses on minute details about fitness regimes. Even, pre-workouts. He once called out people for having their pre-workout without water.

Nick Walker bashes the Dry-scoop trend

Through one of his Instagram videos, Walker shared how he gets offended every time someone just dry-scoops their pre-workouts instead of consuming it normally. “I mean, I don’t understand it like, do you think it looks cool? I don’t know I think it looks weird to me,” he exclaimed.

The bodybuilder also stated the demerits of following such methods, noting how pre-workouts might not give out optimum results one follows the right way of consumption. “You do realize, a lot of the ingredients within your pre-workout, you need to mix it with water to shake it up, blend it with water for it to like really take the full effect you know. And also do you really think it looks cool?” Walker questioned.
