Joseph Baena, son of Arnold Schwarzenegger, shares the bodybuilding legend’s dreams of making it big in Hollywood. The talented young man has a flair for creativity. He also displays jacked muscularity reminiscent of the Austrian Oak’s Greek god aesthetics. Moreover, Baena has slowly carved out his unique identity on social media and is inching towards a fulfilling acting career. Additionally, he is working hard by taking acting classes and tapping into his talent. However, before venturing into the cinematic world, the Schwarzenegger kid has some inhibitions. He is worried about the sad truth of role confinements that some megastars experience in Hollywood.

Appearing in the Rawtalk Podcast hosted by Bradley Martin, Baena talked about wanting to show his acting ability. He aims to choose characters that depict his emotional range. He also referred to big movie stars, pigeonholed into playing the same roles, like $160 million net worth Matthew McConaughey.

Joseph Baena highlights the grim truth of Hollywood

In the year-old interview, the charming fitness enthusiast reveals the intricate maneuvering needed in Hollywood. It is a cause of concern for Baena because he looks very similar to Arnie in terms of his features and muscularity. Moreover, the 25-year-old has spent the past few years working hard on his body. The ex-Governor, at the beginning of his career, played the role of brave heart, befitting his herculean physique. Movies like “The Terminator” and “True Lies” turned the Austrian Oak into a megastar. But even his complex roles in “Total Recall” and “The Sixth Day” belonged to the sci-fi genre and were action-oriented.

However, Baena wants to tap into an emotional quotient to display a range of roles. He talked about Matthew McConaughey, who for years played the romantic comedy king in movies like “The Wedding Planner” (2001), “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” (2003), “Failure to Launch” (2006), etc. Baena opined, “Matthew McConaughey, for example, he was typecasted as the rom-com guy….” However, the acclaimed actor worked hard to transition into more nuanced and dramatic characters. McConaughey also won the Academy Award for Best Actor for “Dallas Buyers Club” (2013), and who can forget Christopher Nolan’s “Interstellar?”

Giving further details, Joseph Baena said, “He stopped working for a few years until someone gave him a new role that wasn’t the rom-com guy… They even offered him mad money to play the rom-com guy again, but he said no because he wanted to break away from the typecast.” Although there may be more to the story, Baena showed the larger picture. Furthermore, he revealed his initial trepidations as he fought the stereotypes. The budding actor is not only negotiating ways to avoid portraying similar roles, but Baena is also coming out of his dad’s shadows.

People compare Baena to his father, Arnold Schwarzenegger

Life is challenging for the “Bully High” actor, as Baena belongs to the Schwarzenegger clan. But the social media sensation tries very hard to build his own identity. In an interview with E! Insider, Baena underscored the inevitability of always being compared to the 7-time Mr. Olympia

He stated, “I would always get comments if you’re only there because of your dad or whatever, and so it bothered me at the time, but now I’ve realized that it’s gonna be part of it.” It might be disheartening to always cater to unsolicited comments, but that is how fame works.
