Multiple-time Olympia-winning coach Hany Rambod invited none other than Phil Heath on his podcast. Heath and Rambod share a special relationship as the former Mr. Olympia won seven Sandow trophies under Rambod’s tutelage. However, The Gift and Rambod’s coach-pupil relationship goes back to the very beginning of Phil Heath’s career.

During The Truth podcast, Phil Heath recalled how Rambod had helped him win his pro debut. While the then-novice bodybuilder showed promise, he hadn’t developed a champion mindset. Instead, Heath felt nervous while competing with bodybuilding veterans at his pro debut. Heath explained that he felt “happy to be there,” until Rambod talked some sense into him.

Phil Heath said most fans saw him as a man focused on becoming a record-setting Mr. Olympia. “It wasn’t always like that,” said Heath. In fact, during his pro debut, the bodybuilder felt just as nervous as he had felt during his first amateur show. “(I was) very scared and intimidated,” confessed the bodybuilding icon because he was up against people he looked up to.

Competing against experienced bodybuilders like Bill Wilmore, Daren Charles, and others didn’t inspire confidence in Phil Heath. However, Hany Rambod came to the rescue. Although people didn’t know Heath was training under Rambod, the proverbial cat was out of the bag when the renowned coach approached Phill Heath. Rambod was in no mood to chat.

“I came up and I started lighting you up,” recalled Rambod. Hnay Rambod scolded him back to his senses. The 49-year-old knew Heath could win the show despite going up against seasoned competitors, and that’s exactly what happened. Phil Heath won his pro debut. Over a decade later, Rambod said the same thing to another bodybuilder.

Whether it’s Phil Heath or Chris Bumstead, Hany Rambod will save the day

Chris Bumstead broke down mentally on the eve of winning his fourth Classic Physique Olympia title. Despite being the favorite to win the show, the bodybuilder doubted himself after realizing he had suffered a bicep tear. Although minor, the injury inflamed the arm muscle, obscuring his bicep peak. Bumstead later revealed that Rambod came to the recuse yet again.

The Pro Creator came up to the Classic Physique champion and said, “What the f*ck is wrong with you man. Smile up there, relax, you are the champ, walk as you own it.” Cbum said that Rambod’s words helped him steady his nerves, and he stepped on stage smiling like he the champion that he was.
