“Weirdest Front Lat Spreads”: Fans React to Comparisons of Wesley Vissers’ Physique to Lou Ferrigno’s on the Internet

Wesley Vissers, the newly crowned Arnold Classic Champion, has drawn comparison to the bodybuilding legend Lou Ferrigno, particularly for his front double biceps pose. Arnold Schwarzenegger, himself, noted the resemblance while presenting Vissers with the champion trophy for winning the classic physique contest and dethroning Ramon Dino at the Arnold Classic. This observation sparked renewed interest in comparing the two athletes—one from the Golden Era and the other from the Modern Era.
Recently, Mark Max Muscle shared a video on his YouTube channel examining the two bodybuilders and showcasing pictures with a few poses. The YouTube video kicked off with a double biceps pose, showing how Wesley Vissers resembles the legendary Lou Ferrigno. Both flexed their abs, and the comparison leaned more towards Ferrigno’s 1994 physique, known for its ripped appearance.

Moving on to the front lat spread, Vissers’s pose echoed Ferrigno’s, especially in the older pictures Arnie mentioned. Their high lats and similar arm positions emphasized the likeness in their physiques. In the side chest pose, the Dutch Oak and young Ferrigno flaunted similar biceps, and Visser’s old-school vein brought back memories of Schwarzenegger’s iconic one.
The rear double biceps highlighted Vissers’s larger and more symmetrical delts, standing out compared to a softer Lou Ferrigno on the Olympia stage. In the most muscular pose, their tall statures, both around 6’3″ to 6’4″, became the focal point.
Fans also chimed in, sharing their thoughts in the video’s comment section.
Fans were baffled by the comparison between Wesley Vissers and Lou Ferrigno
One fan had an interesting thought. “Considering Wesley’s posing is virtually identical to Arnold’s I’m sure Wesley was a little disappointed when Arnold said he reminded him of Lou,” they speculated. Many highlighted the perceived size difference between Lou Ferrigno and Wesley Vissers. One such comment read, “Lou’s frame is way bigger. Remember that pic where he dwarfed Dillet and the scene in the bus at the end of Pumping Iron.”

Fans, however, criticized Wesley Vissers’ front lat spread, expressing that “Wesley has one of the weirdest front lat spreads, it’s like he’s not even hitting it more like he’s just putting his hands on his waist and relaxing.” One fan noted the similarity between the two, and explained, “Big Lou came back in the 90’s and his weight was over 300 pounds in 1993 and 1994.”
