Bodybuilding legend Arnold Schwarzenegger worked hard to make a name for himself in Hollywood. Initially, the actor was apprehensive about his acting and thick accent. However, he proved his mettle, becoming a dream action hero. Moreover, he became a pop culture icon through movies like Conan the Barbarian, The Terminator franchise, and Predator. The roles became so iconic that even now, fans demand that Arnie reprise his roles. Different scenarios are being thought out to include the legend if Prey 2 drops.
In an article published by ScreenRant, the idea of the Austrian Oak returning to the Predator franchise was discussed. However, the timeline of “Prey” released in 2022 and “Predator” (1987) movie featuring Arnie does not match. There might be a solution hiding in the concept of the “Back to the Future” Trilogy.

The Prey, set in 1719, shows the protagonist Naru proving her worth as a warrior amidst the attack by unfriendly alien creatures. The 7x Mr Olympia played the role of Alan “Dutch” Schaefer set in 1987. The time gap between the two movies is a whopping 268 years. However, according to Screen Rant, time travel can be a way to bring the different timelines together.

According to the article, “Both Naru and Dutch could appear in Prey 2 if it has time-traveling Predators hopping all over human history.” The idea does not seem too farfetched, as Arnie has already played the cyborg assassin from the future in the Terminator franchise. In the first part, T-800 was sent from 2029 to 1984 to Kill Sarah Connor. While the crux of the movie has humans and machines fighting, all the parts involve mind-boggling time travel.
Moreover, in the film “Back to the Future,” released in 1985, the lead character, Marty McFly, travels thirty years to the past, aided by a time machine. The 17-year-old boy ends up in hilarious situations as he maneuvers his way to normalcy. Thus, the movie industry is replete with examples of characters appearing in different time zones. Hence, Arnie can also end up in 1717 in the “Prey” universe. Even the director of the most recent sequel of Predator expressed his desire to cast the former governor in a cameo.

Dan Trachtenberg wants Schwarzenegger to do a cameo
Dan Trachtenberg appeared in an interview with Variety and discussed the possibility. The director said, “I did learn there was an attempt to have Arnold in ‘Predators’ (2010). All I’ll say is — there’s still time for those guys. They’re still around, and wouldn’t that be awesome?” Although Schwarzenegger had agreed to reprise his role as the Terminator, he never became a part of the $741 Million Predator franchise.
