What a magnificent and surprising end to the 2023 Mr. Olympia, the greatest bodybuilding event. Elite bodybuilders in every division worked hard to claim the top spot. But a new champion emerged in each division, except for Classic Physique, where Chris Bumstead remained victorious. However, throughout the predictions, the people’s favorite Derek Lunsford, was expected to place second. Eventually, Lunsford took the stage by storm.

Lunsford made history by becoming the first bodybuilder to win in two different divisions. In his open division debut, he secured second place to Hadi Choopan. The placing this year has reversed the title: the previous year’s second, climbed to the first, and the winner rolled down to second place.

Flex Wheeler’s prophecy about Hadi Choopan and Derek Lunsford has failed

During his final predictions on Olympia TV, one of the bodybuilding experts, Flex Wheeler, named his top five bodybuilders. According to his list, Lunsford remained in second place. The list went as follows, “Samson Dauda, Derek Lunsford, Nick Walker, Andrew Jacked, and Hadi Choopan.” However, while the experts each had their own choices for the winner, they all shared a common belief that the stage would witness the crowning of a new champion.
