Jay Cutler‘s ascent to fame reached its peak when he triumphed at the esteemed Mr. Olympia contest. In 2006 he overthrew the legendary Ronnie Coleman and secured his first Mr. Olympia title. This win signified the start of a four-year rule, as Cutler proceeded to seize the title in 2007, 2009, and 2010. His supremacy in the competition reinforced his position as one of the finest bodybuilders of his era. In a short YouTube video, the 49-year-old candidly expresses his initial uncertainties about earning a living as a bodybuilder. Reflecting on his journey, he stated, “When I started bodybuilding in the beginning, it was kind of like, you sure you can make a living at this? I’ve been able to go to the top and chase the mountain right and conquer the mountain and, of course, I’ve come down the other side and I’ve had all these things that I branched off and done great success.”

During an interview with the Generation Iron Fitness Network, ‘The Comeback Kid’ delved deeper into his early career aspirations, disclosing his dream to be a police officer. “I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do and thought I want to be a police officer,” Cutler confessed that even as an adult, he remained unsure about his future. Nonetheless, destiny had other plans for him. As he immersed himself in bodybuilding, his enthusiasm for the gym and the entire atmosphere heightened, prompting him to commit wholeheartedly to this endeavor.

Ultimately, he recognized that bodybuilding was his genuine calling and chose to pursue a path that would eventually solidify him as one of the most esteemed figures in the bodybuilding community. Despite his uncertainties, the bodybuilding veteran’s tenacity and unwavering concentration drove him to reach remarkable heights. His accomplishments soared, especially as a participant in the prestigious Olympia.

Jay Cutler’s advice on setting aside dedicated time

In today’s fast-paced world, the legend acknowledged the importance of finding time for oneself amid the chaos. He emphasized the need to carve out moments, even if it’s just an hour a day, for activities such as meditation and training, to disconnect from external distractions. Cutler pointed out that when he started his career, there were no extensions like smartphones to constantly disturb his focus. “I’m still able to carve out whether it’s an hour a day to meditate and do my training and not think about these things like the phone has to go off. You know We didn’t have these extensions back when I started.”
