18-year-old Jadon Sancho has been absolutely prolific for Borussia Dortmund scoring 9 goals and providing 17 assists in his breakthrough season. The former Manchester City forward is not only leading Dortmund’s title-charge alongside Marco Reus, but is also making strides for the England national team. Last night saw the youngster make his full competitive debut in the Lions’ 5-0 thumping of Czech Republic at Wembley.

Sancho has come a long way since departing from Manchester two years ago due to his lack of first-team involvement in Pep Guardiola’s side. After a brilliant season in the Bundesliga, clubs are eagerly lining up for the Dortmund ace for his services next season.

One of the many names frequently doing the rounds are Premier League giants Manchester United. Sancho has emerged as a top priority for the Red Devils next season, with the management likely to turn away from Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho.

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has emerged as a secret admirer of the 18-year-old Borussia Dortmund player who spoke to Goal.com earlier this week about the prospect of landing the winger to Old Trafford in the upcoming transfer window.

“Sancho? I would take him (at United) all day. English, young, hungry and talented, that’s all I need to know. He has got the mentality. The mentality is a big part of it all, whether he has the physical attributes or not,” claimed the former centre-back.

Goal posted the interview on their Twitter handle quoting Rio’s comments. Interestingly, Sancho then re-tweeted the post, before quickly deleting his activity.

The high-flying winger has reportedly been slapped with a 100 million price-tag, with Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United said to be front-runners in the bidding race.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side has been depleted with injuries lately, and with age catching up for most players, a complete overhaul might be needed in the summer. And Sancho is one of many high-profile names linked with a move to Old Trafford.
