Paddy Pimblett’s nickname, The Baddy, is not for nothing. The eager beaver that he is, Paddy has a no-hold-bar approach to handing over a red-inked report card. For example, the Liverpudlian denounced the October 29 fight between UFC great Anderson Silva and YouTuber turned-boxer Jake Paul as spurious.

Jakarta-based Mola TV aired Pimblett’s interview through their program Pub Talk. Hosted by former Gunner Ray Parlour and United and Spur veteran Alan Brazil, the show invites celebrity sports persons for an informal chat. The latest show had UFC newbie and fellow Briton Paddy Pimblett as the guest.

What does Paddy think of Jake Paul?

To begin with, the Baddy touched upon his journey from Merseyside to the UFC Galaxy. Halfway through, Alan checked for his opinion on the authenticity of the new fad, YouTube boxing. As honest as he could be, Paddy found most of them fakes. However, he did acknowledge the intensity with which Jake Paul was taking the training.

A few minutes later, he opined his take on the Anderson Silva fight. “Yeah, but I don’t think the Tyron Woodley knockout was fixed. “When you get knocked out like that and you land face first, if you’re not unconscious you’d go [put your arms out]; you can’t help it; that’s a human reaction. I seen an angle of a punch he hit Anderson Silva with the other day where he sat down, and he didn’t even hit him.”

No, you can’t make such bold statements against the Problem Child and expect him to waltz around. The Briton’s aspersions irked the YouTuber. Jake Paul challenged Paddy to a five-round boxing bout through his Twitter handle. Letting the cat out of the bag, Paul confirmed a reward money offer amounting to $1 million if Paddy won. However, if defeated, Pimblett will join Jake’s ambitious project, United Fighter’s Association.

Paddy accepts Jake Paul’s challenge

Winning the sixth fight since his professional debut in 2020, clarity on Jake Paul‘s next match remains suspended. While his bravery, oblivious, of course, to what lies ahead for him, saw him challenge the likes of Canelo Alvarez, Conor McGregor, and Nate Diaz. A timely appeal of wisdom might see him rekindle the fight with bête noire Tommy Fury and, of course, fellow YouTuber KSI.

The lively lad that he is, Paddy, accepted Jake Paul’s challenge for $1 million. TMZ Sports’ video clip shows him responding to a question on his interest in the stakes. Paddy said, “Of course but I’m under contract by the UFC and he said this knowing full well that’m fighting next week no I mean as if he does not know I’m fighting next week and he’s like I’ll fly…”

But he did acknowledge Jake was a ‘decent boxer’ given he has been in the business for the last two years.

The latest chapter in the Jake Paul saga will hook up the fans and lovers. However, they would prefer how good he makes out of the challenge. Is he willing to go the extra mile and fight, minus the conditions he is comfortable with?
