Gervonta Davis’s TKO victory over former WBA interim lightweight titleholder Rolando Romero has attracted praise from a wide range of athletes both from inside and outside boxing. Although Davis fell short because of his height and reach disadvantages against an opponent as tall as Romero, he managed to find that one shot and won the fight.

Rolando Romero found Gervonta Davis near a corner at the edge of the ring. He then pushed him with a straight right hand and saw him back against the ropes. At this, Rolly got excited and thought it an excellent strategy to attack Davis with a jab to the head, followed by a straight hand, a little down his chin. However, Tank maintained his high guard and saw the opening to Romero’s face as the latter lowered his right arm.

One punch can change the night, one punch can end the fight. It definitely did both for Romero on Saturday in Brooklyn.
