It’s time to bring the eager beavers up to speed. Fans can rejoice, for they might have a time frame in hand. Apparently, a date has been set for the first broadcast of a boxing event under the Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) and Amazon Prime partnership.

When it comes to fights per se, 2024 will undoubtedly go down as one of the best in boxing history. But what about viewing? Inch towards a glorious new chapter

Citing noted boxing writer Dan Rafael, talkSPORT‘s Michael Benson shared this a few hours ago. Al Haymon-run PBC and Amazon Prime planned to churn out their first boxing event, tentatively a pay-per-view, by March 30. Writing on his substack, ‘Fight Freaks Unite’ Rafael mentioned, “The first event of the deal is slated to take place on March 30, sources with knowledge of the plans told Fight Freaks Unite on Thursday.

However, the celebrated boxing journalist stated that the particulars regarding the fights were not yet available. The primary reason appears to be an impasse on whether it should be a PPV one or not.

But the available sources hinted at a high likelihood of a pay-per-view fight. He wrote, “Which fights will be on the show have not been determined because it has not been settled on if the card will be a pay-per-view, which is likely, according to the sources, or a non-PPV. It is dependent in part on Amazon finishing building out the platform that will handle the pay-per-view purchases, one of the sources said.

So many exciting fights appear lined up for the year. However, quite a few fans must have felt like they were standing on tenterhooks when it boiled down to viewing. Now as the dust settles, they can heave a sigh of relief, with the new update adding a positive footnote on one of the most significant developments in boxing. The deal, as such, might put on view reportedly 12 to 14 boxing shows every year.
