Ebanie Bridges just faced off against Miyo Yoshida as she returned to the ring for the first time this year after almost 12 months. Her previous bout was against Shannon O’Connell, whom she fought back in December 2022 and successfully defended her IBF bantamweight title. Interestingly, she ended up facing Yoshida after Avril Mathie pulled out from the fight due to an unspecified injury.

The two fought in the undercard for the Devin HaneyRegis Prograis main event for the latter’s super lightweight championship. Even though things ended well for Haney, such was not the case for Bridges. As the two came face-to-face, Bridges ended up losing her title. However, she didn’t let the loss phase her as he took to social media to write a heartfelt message.

Originally set to clash with Mathie in the much-talked-about “Battle of the B**bs,” Bridges found herself in a different scenario when Yoshida stepped in at short notice. The sudden change exposed Bridges’ lack of readiness for her opponent’s unique style, leading to a landslide victory for Yoshida, who dominated the fight and secured the judges’ favor with scores of 99-91 and 97-93.

Post-match, Yoshida, displaying sportsmanship, praised Bridges as a “great champion.” Punch statistics underscored the one-sided nature of the contest, with Yoshida landing 122 power punches to Bridges’ 66.
