Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson might not be one of the most asked-for fights of this year. However, despite the criticisms levied against it, it will be taking place. Now, in response to these critics, popular streamer Adin Ross has clapped back.

This summer, an unexpected fight between 27-year-old, ‘Problem Child’ and 58 year-old, Mike Tyson will take place at the AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas. For the 20th July fight, ever since its inception, Paul has faced flak for signing a fight against someone who is almost 30 years older than him. Excited for it, Ross outlined why Paul’s decision is one that he concurs with.

23-year-old Ross is one of the very few people who has expressed his agreeability with the upcoming fight. The likes of Conor McGregor, and KSI, have all been staunchly against the matchup. Speaking vividly why he approves of the event, in his podcast, in which Paul too made an appearance, he explained, “F*ck anyone talking sh*t about you fighting Mike because anybody, and I mean anybody is saying yes to that. Any person is going to say yes.”

The fight that is being promoted by Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) has roped in Netflix as its streaming partner. It will be the first sporting event the streaming platform will headline. Per reports, the organizers are looking at having about 65,000-80,000 spectators at the venue on fight night. Ross understands the relevance of it all. He highlights to Paul, “You’re fighting the greatest boxer of all time.”

Paul in return nodded in affirmative at what Ross had to say. However, it is interesting to see what the fighter will make of the bout in his career. After he defeated Andre August last year, he highlighted his yearning for a championship fight. To get that opportunity, he will have to fight against professional boxers in sanctioned events. But, for a fight against someone as senior as Tyson, the assumption is primarily that it’ll be of an exhibition-esque nature.

However, the decision on this matter is yet to be taken.

Jake Paul will not let his fans down

On his MMA Hour, Ariel Helwani, quoting his sources, reported that it has not been ascertained yet if Tyson vs. Paul will be sanctioned by a governing body. The final decision in this matter lies in the purview of the Texas Commission, in whose jurisdiction the fight is to happen. However, if the fight were to be declared an exhibition, he noted that the fighters would not wear headgear.

While Paul did not clarify if the fight would be official, he did rule out the chances of wearing a headgear. On his Instagram stories, Paul, in a strongly worded video noted, “Just a quick message to the people who are complaining about the rules of me versus Mike Tyson…I feel for any dumb*** who believes that and I would never let my fans down in a fight like this and wearing headgear? Come on now people.”
