Billy Joe Saunders, who fought his last in 2021, is finally back in the gym and training. In his recent interview with IFL TV, Saunders spoke about “chilling” and “enjoying” his recovery. Although he did not disclose his exact plans concerning his comeback to the ring, Saunders confirmed that he’d returned to the gym. On being asked if he was talking to promoters to make his comeback to boxing, he, of course, answered in negative.

However, Billy Joe Saunders, who fought his last against Canelo Alvarez with three Super Middleweight titles on the line, spoke about super middleweight contender Demetrius Andrade reaching out to him. On being asked what Andrade said to Saunders exactly, the British boxer replied, “It’s a load of sh*t, really.” “Yeah, look, I only got myself back into camp now. I’m back in, let’s see where I go. I gotta keep enjoying it,” he added.

In his last fight, Saunders fought Canelo Alvarez with three titles on the line. Alvarez thoroughly dominated him and won the fight via RTD. While Joe Saunders entered the fight unbeaten with a record of 30 wins, Alvarez arrived with a record of only 1 loss, 2 draws, and 55 massive wins. Despite the height and reach advantage, Billy Joe Saunders fell against Alvarez in the ring. As per BoxRec, all three judges scored the bout in Alvarez’s favor and the Mexican ended Saunders within the 8th round of the fight.

In his recent interview with IFL TV, Saunders revealed that he was not talking to any promoter for the time being. “No, I’ve not been talking to no promoters,” said Saunders who once hinted at a potential fight with Gennady Golovkin. Looks like fans will have to wait a little longer to know what is Joe Saunders’s next move in boxing.
