Creed 3 recently hit the theaters and had the highest opening weekend so far compared to its predecessors. Sylvester Stallone’s absence in the latest “Creed III” has left many fans questioning his whereabouts. Stallone starred alongside Michael B. Jordan in the first two “Creed” movies and gained an Oscar nomination for his role.
“Creed 3”, apparently, took a darker tone, which Sylvester Stallone was not in favor of. He stated that there were disagreements in the film’s creative direction, so he decided to not be a part of the movie. Furthermore, Stallone and longtime “Rocky” franchise producer Irwin Winkler had a conflict over rights to the franchise. This also played a role in Stallone’s absence. In a 2019 interview with Variety, Stallone revealed he had no ownership of the “Rocky” franchise. He shared that felt furious about the situation. A feud between Stallone and Winkler over the rights was reignited in 2022. This led Stallone to post a portrait of Winkler on Instagram with a knife-tongued serpent.

Amidst the above-mentioned conflicts and the release of Creed 3, an old interview with Stallone made the fans go crazy. In an interview with Jonathan Ross, Stallone discussed his views of different Rocky movies. When asked to rate Rocky movies, he rated Rocky 5 a zero. He called it a “Goose Egg”. He said that it was so bad that he had to do a ‘last one’ (Rocky Balboa) to not end the franchise with Rocky 5.
“Because if you’re going to end up doing something like so bad, so off-key. That was the impetus to do that,” he said.
Fans’ response to old Sylvester Stallone interview
In reaction to Sylvester’s old interview, fans started to give out their own favorite Rocky movie. Fans began to share their opinion on different Rocky movies.
Chris Busher shared his opinion on the movies. He said, “I like the 2nd one just as much as the first, as it doesn’t feel like a sequel, but kind of like part 2 of 2. When you watch the first 2 back to back, it feels like 1 film, similar to Kill Bill Vol 1 and 2. I also like 5 and 6, where in 3 and 4 they didn’t have that Rocky underdog type feel.”
