At 61, Evander Holyfield remains relentless in the gym. However, is that enough for him to undertake a resurgence in the boxing ring? A new video of him training has prompted fans to relay their opinion on this matter.

Holyfield led his career when the heavyweight division was at its competitive peak. With opponents like Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, and Riddick Bowe all holding court, his sustenance in the weight class was not easy. However, through it all, he soared and became a four-time heavyweight champion. Years later, he tried his hand at a few exhibition bouts. However, from his latest in-ring outing, it looks like he is preparing to put on a show. Against who, though?

Is he fighting Mike Tyson Again?

On Instagram, the sport’s insider, FightHubTV posted an intriguing video of the heavyweight. In it, ‘The Real Deal’ can be seen pacing in the squared ring in what seems to be a boxing gym. In the background, a voice touched upon his infamous encounter with Mike Tyson and asked the champ if he was preparing for his return. The page in their captions wrote, Evander Holyfield still HAS IT!!!…Could we see a Tyson vs Holyfield 3 fight in the future?”

Fans were quick to suggest that the fighter might be planning for a comeback in the ring. However, a set of fans did not approve of that trajectory. Well, they supported their argument, by citing history. In September 2021, in his first and last exhibition bout, Holyfield struggled against his opponent, Vitor Belfort. The former MMA fame pressured the boxing legend right from the beginning, dropping him on the canvas in the first round itself.

While the fight did not work in his favor, it managed to draw some major traction. It was, of course, the comeback of Holyfield, coupled with Donald Trump taking on the helm as a commentator. The new video of him in the gym sent fans into a raging debate about whether the Real Deal should fight again or not.

Does Evander Holyfield still have it?

Negated, a user. Citing his loss to Belfort, they suggested that it was not a good idea for Holyfield to enter the ring post his retirement. “No he got destroyed by Vitor Belfort in an exhibition. Holyfield doesn’t need to fight any exhibitions anymore. Stay in shape and enjoy retirement.

Another fan brought their sarcasm to contribute. They highlighted the irony by writing, “HE STILL HAS IT!” Jogs around ring….”

“There goes another opponent for Jake Paul,” iterated a user. The comment comes in reference to the fight ‘Problem Child’ has booked against Mike Tyson for the 20th of July.
