The highly anticipated heavyweight showdown between Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou is a mere ten days away, and the official promo video has already arrived, raising eyebrows with a surprise twist. The event which has been termed “Knockout Chaos” is set to take place on March 8th. Once again, Saudi Arabia has surpassed all expectations when it comes to fight promotions.

Joshua is looking to prove his mettle as a former two-time world champion, who has victories over legends like Wladimir Klitschko and Alexander Povetkin. Ngannou, on the other hand, is looking to achieve his first victory in the sport, after he suffered a controversial loss to Tyson Fury last year. Interestingly, the promo clip for the fight between the two has already won the hearts of boxing enthusiasts all over the world.

Recently, the official promo video for the Saudi Arabia bout surfaced on social media. The promo video, released by the advisor to the Royal Court of Saudi Arabia, Turki Al-Alshikh, takes inspiration from the popular game Street Fighter, showcasing intense action between the two fighters in various settings.

The video showed both fighters going at one another. It even included a hilarious situation where both heavyweight behemoths got beaten by an old lady with a broom after Joshua crashed through her shop. Towards the end, both boxers threw punches at one another but they landed at the same time resulting in a double knockout. While undoubtedly dramatic, it’s an ending neither fighter will be hoping for come fight night. So what do the fans think about the video? Let’s find out.

Anthony Joshua invokes Street Fighter lingo

Since its release today, the fight promo for Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou has had the boxing world buzzing. Fans took to social media to share their excitement. Even the former champion himself took to Twitter as he shared the video on the social media website. He predicted the outcome of the fight while invoking the famous line from the game Street Fighter, which pops up when a player defeats their opponent: “Flawless victory.”

One fan shared their appreciation for the promo and wrote, “Getting a movie level trailer for each big boxing show in Saudi is always epic af.” 

Another fan shared his observation, claiming the trailer showed Joshua getting beaten up badly, adding, “The video had Anthony Joshua being beaten by almost everybody including the old lady.”

Meanwhile, a fan shared his hopes for the fight to be more in favor of Joshua, rather than what the trailer had shown. He wrote, “I hope the fight is the opposite to this and AJ does what he did in his last fight.”

Someone else chimed in and shared their appreciation for the Saudis for making such huge fights possible for the fans. He stated, “Saudi has actually changed boxing for the better and we need to start being grateful.”

A fan filled with praises, wrote, “Nah… they’re too good at these promos wtf.”
