It’s been a long time since Anthony Joshua has stepped inside the ring and traded fists with an opponent. But, now in a recent tweet, Eddie Hearn, Anthony Joshua’s promoter, has confirmed that the British boxer is ready for his next showdown. Anthony Joshua lost his last fight against Oleksandr Usyk. Then, he decided to take some time off from professional boxing.

But now, he will be making a comeback with his fight against Jermaine Franklin. Eddie Hearn has confirmed the fight between the two in a recent tweet. The fight is scheduled to happen on April 1 at London’s O2 arena, UK.

However, the decision to show the fight as part of the regular DAZN subscription plan has been met with mixed reactions from fans. People have expressed their dissatisfaction with the streaming service after the monthly subscription prices hiked up.

Fans are angry over DAZN subscription prices

Fans were initially ecstatic that they will be able to watch the fight comparatively cheaply. But soon they felt betrayed after witnessing the high ticket prices. They were in dismay and full of anger after finding out that the monthly subscription price has increased from £7.99 to £19.99. Previously, the fans were outraged when the PPV prices were revealed for KSI vs FaZe Temper match.

Fans took to Twitter to express their discontent. The tweet by Micheal Benson received furious comments from people looking to vent their frustration. One fan pointed out that, there isn’t much difference in the cost of a monthly subscription and that of PPVs.

Another fan claimed that he would rather watch paint dry than watch the ‘contest’.

Another fan also had his suspicion regarding watching the bout after paying the monthly subscription plan.

Many fans shared their mutual frustration as the price of the subscription got jacked up. A fan even pointed out with astonishment the fact that in just 4 years the price went up from £1.99 to £19.99.

One fan wrote that given the popular opinion if the fight were to be shown on PPV, the event would definitely flop.

Although, the news of the fight not being shown on PPV was welcomed by a lot of people. They still have mixed feelings about the monthly cost of the subscription. Many have pointed out that, there simply isn’t enough content offered for the price. This led to a lot of criticism toward DAZN from boxing fans.

It is crucial for Anthony Joshua to win the fight as he lost his last two bouts to Oleksandr Usyk. His promoter, Eddie Hearn, believes that this match will help Anthony Joshua come back stronger and regain his position as a top fighter. He said, “Anyone who wants to doubt Anthony Joshua, this guy is a fine young man that is about to make an assault on the world heavyweight title again.”

No matter what happens, fans are already hyped about the fight. It will be interesting to see if Anthony Joshua can make a successful comeback.
