As per the latest updates, the 44-year-old broadcaster, Kate Abdo, known for her coverage of the elite European soccer tournament UEFA Champions League, will make her debut on Misfits Boxing. In the 14th episode of Misfits News, on being asked if Abdo who trains with Malik Scott could potentially make a move to Misfits Boxing, Co-President Mams Taylor answered in the affirmative. In this context, while an opponent has yet to be decided for Abdo, she continued training with Malik Scott.

Previously, speaking to talkSPORT, Scott had spoken about Kate Abdo’s understanding of boxing. Although Scott had found Abdo heavy-handed for a fighter of her size, the trainer would be hard on her deliberately at times. As per Scott, Abdo has a praiseworthy right hand and she can turn her hips very well to achieve the kind of impact desired.

Additionally, Scott was impressed by Abdo’s curiosity. In his own words, Abdo is “a sponge for knowledge“. “She wants to be in the gym, she wants to ask questions, she wants to film study, she wants to know what fight is next,” Scott had added. Meanwhile, Abdo had told talkSPORT that Scott would tell her she had “slow feet“. However, the broadcaster improved over time.

In the recent training clip, Abdo was seen hitting the mitts held by her boyfriend-cum-trainer Malik Scott. After throwing a four-punch combo, Abdo would measure her reach and duck something Scott would throw in return. Soon, Abdo practised a three-punch combo consisting of the jab, cross, and left hook. Later, as per Scott’s instructions, Abdo would hit the mitts with her right hand while stepping back.

Gradually, the 44-year-old ended the session having practised six-punch combinations. In this context, after IFN Boxin shared the brief clip on X, several fans reacted to it. However, most of them were unimpressed. Here is what they were saying.
