It is here! One of the biggest cross-over fights of the year will take its course in all its glory tonight at the Boulevard Hall of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Tyson Fury acknowledges the disparity this fight reeks
For a fighter with the experience and prowess like that of ‘Gypsy King’, the boxing realm anticipates a bout against a fighter of a similar caliber like Oleksandr Usyk. A fight as such still on the horizon, Fury has not been able to dodge the wrath of the community that has come his way. His boxing record of 34 fights with zero losses lavishly outgrows the boxing record of ‘The Predator’ which is none. After maintaining a poised silence on this disparity till now, Gypsy King has publicly acknowledged it before fight night.
He said, “I’m gonna make it nice and short. It’s like a table tennis champion facing Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon final.” The befitting comparison comes at a time when the combat community emerges in extreme respect for Ngannou who has headlined at the UFC for 10 years now and further takes his combat career in a new format- boxing. Furthermore, against a much more adept fighter, Tyson Fury.
A fan came in a scathing attack toward the boxing champion is seeing what the fight entails. There are no titles on the line. So, where does the bigger picture lie for the fight?
At least he’s honest about how pointless it all is. Obviously this quote completely contradicts everything else he’s said in the build up but we’re used to that now.
