Soon after trouncing Andre August in the first round, Jake Paul had one poser for all the cynics. What would be their excuse now? He also stated how much he loves boxing. The bout with August ended as soon as it began. A flawless upper cut from ‘The Problem Child’ dazed the lights out of the 35-year-old cruiserweight.

Even though he managed to get up, August’s condition convinced the referee to call off the fight. With the win, Jake Paul’s record reads 8 wins against 1 loss. It’s been some time since the YouTuber-turned-boxer wanted the boxing community to acknowledge his resolve. He often found himself at the receiving end of claims over fighting opponents, mostly from the mixed martial arts world, who had retired from their game. Thus, the victory over a professional boxer now gives him the legitimacy he had been seeking for a long time.

All for boxing: Jake Paul

Most who saw his comments appreciated the work he has put in over the years. A few, in fact, urged him to ignore the naysayers and continue with his crusade.

This comment appears to have come from a die-hard fan. They compared Jake Paul to Muhammad Ali! According to them, ‘The Problem Child’ could even be a more skilled boxer than Ali. While the ‘Greatest’ did enjoy a fantastic career, in terms of sheer personal traits, Paul stands out.

According to this fan, most are jealous of the Paul brothers’ success. But they cannot do anything about it except watch from the sidelines.

Then this user posited that Jake Paul surpasses KSI. The British YouTuber-turned-boxer often comes with justifications. ‘The Problem Child’ on the other hand, will knock him out within four rounds.

Congratulating Jake Paul for the decisive win, this fan shared why he became his fan after spending some time as a vehement critic.

The following fan mentioned how the critics will find some to bait him. However, Jake Paul needs to let them know how he doesn’t care.

Clearly, some of the sentiments were hyperbolic to the extent of being believable.

Lofty dream, but feet need to be on the ground

Perhaps, with his first win over a professional boxer, Jake Paul wouldn’t want to miss the momentum. He has often expressed an interest in fighting Canelo Alvarez. But given where the only undisputed champion among men stands today, he might as well be asking for the moon.

Though his ambitions soar sky high, he must now, more than ever, be cognizant of his skills and take gradual steps to realize his dream. Otherwise, Paul can always fall back on mixed martial arts. He has already signed with the Professional Fighters League. Hence, he can look forward to making a name in the octagon as well.
