First Aaron Chalmers, and now John Gotti III. Fans have repeatedly questioned the rationale behind picking challengers who barely have anything left in them to withstand the onslaught from even an aging Floyd Mayweather Jr. Luis Vicente Palomino, the reigning bare-knuckle fighting champion and mixed martial artist, believes explicitly that a self-introspection would bode well the former champion. He even suggests who the former champion could pick for the next fight.

Forty-two-year-old Lima-born Palomino is no spring chicken when it comes to combat sports. A jiu-jitsu black belt, he also holds a professorship in Capoeira. He debuted as a pro mixed martial artist in 2006 and was active until 2019, his record stands at twenty-six wins against seventeen losses. However, beginning in 2020, he diversified to bare-knuckle fighting. There he remains undefeated with eight wins becoming the Lightweight and Welterweight champion.

So TMZ Sports caught up with the Peruvian-American fighter who seems keen on donning the boxing gloves. He described how boxing remains his first love among combat sports. Citing his age, Palomino wished to accumulate a couple of fights under his belts before it was too late. However, he would do so only under the auspices of BKFC because bare-knuckle was the initial stage of boxing before gloves found their place. The pound-for-pound best fighter from bare-knuckle should face the best from boxing. Thus, he hinted at the boxer he wanted to fight.

The TMZ reporter, bringing up the Mayweahter Jr.-Gotti III fight, asked, “We just saw what happened; you’re still interested in that, even seeing what unfolded in that fight over the weekend?” ‘Baboon’ replied that Floyd Mayweather Jr. accomplished anything possible in boxing. Probably unaware of the precise details, he called the former champion a millionaire and said that he is retired, a businessman who is also an outstanding athlete.

Chalmers, Gotti III, now try fighting me, Floyd Mayweather Jr.

While he understands why ‘Money’ continues to fight, the thought of a match against a mint-fresh boxer like John Gotti III, who has amassed barely two wins, jolts him. Palomino expressed his understanding of why Mayweather Jr. is still going along the same route. However, it will not take any time for followers to get bored with the stuff. Then Mayweather Jr. will have to find something new to bring them around.

Getting closer to his intention, he said that the former champion still excelled in boxing at the top level. So it need not be an actual boxing match; it could be an exhibition bout also; however, according to ‘Baboon,’ he should fight a person who can fight back. Calling himself the future of bare-knuckle boxing, Palomino said, “So I have something different I’m the goat; I am the pound-for-pound of bare-knuckle boxing, and Mayweather, anybody can argue he’s the goat of glove boxing, so let’s do an exhibition match!

He suggested that it could be a boxing versus bare-knuckle fight and is open to any rules or regulations, rounds, and venue where Mayweather Jr. would like to have it.
