In 2023, the fighter peaked when he undertook three crucial fights in the squared circle. Against Aneez Taj, the Londoner undertook two fights, winning both via knockouts. Against Nathan Quarless, he followed suit, winning the September fight on points. Now, as he prepares for another glorious year, he has a fight scheduled. It will mark his second innings with the boxing promotion company, BOXXER, as well as a coveted English streaming platform.

Rising cruiserweight, Riley has partnered with Ben Shalom‘s BOXXER and Sky Sports in an exciting long-term partnership. However, this is not the first association he has had with the promotions company. In 2021, the two entered a partnership that resulted in the fighter getting some of the best fights he could land. While in 2021, he fought no one, 2022 marked the onset of his prime. He undertook three big fights: Willbeforce Shihepo, Jone Volau, and Ross McGuigan, winning all of them in a supreme demonstration of his prowess.
His Nathan Quarless fight last year heralded his reign as the English cruiserweight champion. Now, come March 31, at the O2 Arena in London, he will face his career’s toughest opponent, former British champion Mikael Lawal on BOXXER’s weekend entertainer, ‘Bad Blood’. Spilling the beans on his contract renewal with BOXXER and Sky Sports, the 10-undefeated fighter noted to Sky Sports, “My aim is to become world champion and with BOXXER and Sky Sports I know I’m in the right place to make that happen.”

BOXXER founder and CEO Ben Shalom relayed their plans to take the British fighter’s reach from the country to an international base. “We’re delighted that Viddal has signed a long-term contract extension. He is without a doubt one of the most talented and marketable fighters this country has produced. In the next 12 months, we are going to see him rise from English to world level,” he stated. The promotions company handles fighters like Ben Whittaker, Adam Azim, and Caroline Dubois.
Riley’s next opponent, Nigeria-born, Lawal comes with a pristine record of 17-1, still rooting for a rebound from his October, points loss to Isaac Chamberlain. Riley’s first fight under BOXXER’s banner was in 2022 on the undercard of the iconic English clash between Amir Khan and Kell Brooke. The Hackey-origin cruiserweight secured a points win over Wilberforce Shihepo.
