British Heavyweight boxer Mark Potter has left for the heavenly abode. Detected early this year, the cancer of the stomach and bone left him with less than eighteen months to live. The malignancy was at the fourth stage and had reportedly started spreading over the spine.

Most fans could immediately flashback to the bout Potter was having with Danny The Boss Mardell. Raising funds for cancer patients was the consummate idea behind the IBA fight between the two.

Mark Potter: The Great White Shark

Beginning his professional career in 1997, The Great White Shark had fought twenty-six bouts; twenty-one wins against five losses. Fourteen of his victories were knockouts. He lost the last professional match of his boxing career against Michael Sprott in 2003. After that, there were reports of him dabbling in MMA as well.

At the beginning of the year, Potter had reported his calves going numb frequently. Then, as he started going for medical reviews, the pain in his calves seemed to increase. Finally, the diagnosis revealed the stage four cancer that had been constricting his nerves, which led to initial numbness.
