Caleb Plant has been a menace when it comes to trash-talking with his opponents. Back in 2021, when he was still about to fight Canelo Alvarez, he stood up face-to-face in front of the now-undisputed champion and called him a drug cheat. Well, it’s safe to say that it didn’t sit well with Alvarez, as he claimed that this statement of Plant had made the fight personal for him.

Another opponent who got agitated by Plant’s trash-talking was David Benavidez. He had a rivalry with Benavidez for a long time since Benavidez’s father posted about Plant’s late daughter Alia in 2015 when he felt Jose Benavidez Sr. was trying to use his daughter for online attention. So, he told him not to take his daughter’s name again. Well, now in 2024, he’s taken on a feud with a fan.

In a post on X, a fan informed Plant that a frequent commenter named Ray, known for his frequent responses on boxing posts, had called Plant a derogatory term during a conversation on Ryan Garcia’s recent Spaces. The fan didn’t mention the context behind Ray referring to him in a derogatory way. He just tagged the user who called Plant the word. The fan had written, “Yo @SweetHandsPlant Ray just called you a b***h on Ryan Garcia’s Space @RayJack97010720.” Of course, as expected, it wasn’t appreciated by ‘Sweet Hands’.

Caleb Plant instantly replied to the tweet with a threatening response to Ray. He wrote, “The only thing he can do is “talk” about me because if we got locked in a room and told you can’t come out until one of you is dead. I’d be home that same night to brush my daughter’s hair and read her a bed time story & that’s a fact. He knows this to be fact as well.

Hopefully, this threatening response should deter Ray from saying derogatory things about Caleb Plant in the future.

Speaking of fights, Plant is currently laser-focused on settling his feud with Jermall Charlo inside the ring. He’s already called Charlo out for a fight in the for a few months now.

Former champion Caleb Plant is itching to get back in the ring after a year-long hiatus. But this isn’t just a comeback; it’s the start of a three-fight war cry. Plant sets his sights on middleweight champion Jermall Charlo first, a win that he believes will unlock the doors to even bigger challenges. A rematch against Canelo Alvarez and a second showdown with David Benavidez – these are the titans Plant craves to conquer once he’s through with the elder Charlo brother.

The road to Canelo, however, might require a detour through David Morrell. But Plant seems hesitant to take that risky route. So, he believes fighting Charlo is his best option right now. He said, “I know everybody wants to see that, and that’s a big fight for boxing. It’s going to push the culture forward and push boxing forward. It’s something that excites me, and I want to be a part of it.
