In a week, thirty-year-old Caleb Plant will face what is being called the biggest test of his career. In 2021, he met Canelo Alvarez, and given the Mexican champion’s stature and known technical brilliance, the match’s outcome was conceivable. However, a splendid knockout victory over Anthony Dirrell last year ensured a return but pitted him against David Benavidez. A boxer with a known penchant for stoppage victories, Benavidez is the biggest stumbling block in Plant’s route to challenge Alvarez once again and, who knows, stake a claim to the undisputed title?

The long route to fight night throws light on all the stakeholders besides the main protagonists. Additionally, several aspects of their lives are getting observed and talked about. One of the most absorbing dimensions of modern boxing is the paycheck. In the seventies, the sport started rewarding its top achievers handsomely. In the following years, the fight purses surged to the extent that boxers at the top of their game were the highest-earning athletes in the world.

Hence it’s reasonable to assume that fans and followers would be keenly reviewing the kind of money Plant and Benavidez would be taking home after the March 25th fight. Adding to how each boxer has done so far regarding money, and where one stands monetarily remains a matter of curiosity.
